Meet Mettisse, she is a model, reality star, Youtuber and body positive influencer. Mettisse wants us to #LOVETHYLEGS.

I never ever used to get my legs out when I was younger. Now I have realised that they are so long and golden, I just love them.”

Mettisse was inspired by her younger sister to use her platform for positivity. She is on a mission to empower girls and women to feel good in the clothes they want to wear and to feel confident in their own skin.

We found out what body positivity means to her…

Q: Why is body empowerment important to you?

A: Body empowerment is really important because I’ve got a 14-year-old little sister and she is so self-conscious of what she’s wearing, especially with crop tops. I want her to feel comfortable going out in whatever she wants. At 14 years old, you shouldn’t be worried about whether your jeans are high enough and whether they cover your hips, it made me pretty sad.

The photos from today will be amazing for her to see because there are so many different women here that are all different shapes, sizes and colours. They are all so confident in themselves and all really beautiful.

Q: If you could go back to give yourself one piece of advice, what would it be?

A: It would be to stop worrying about what other people think. I was the most self-conscious person you had ever met. I would not wear shorts, have my feet out or even show my arms. Up until being about 16-years-old I would not get my body out at all, so I would say ‘just be you, you’re beautiful. Scars, marks, whatever, it doesn’t matter’.

Q: Is there a female that empowers you?

A: The female that empowers me would definitely be Rhianna. It doesn’t matter what size she is, big or small, she’ll wear whatever she wants and does what she wants. She’s just so confident in herself. On a side note, she also made me feel really confident about my feet because I’m a size 7 and she’s a size 9 and she rocks it, so it’s fine.
