It’s a widely known fact that calories don’t count at weekends.
Ok, so maybe that’s not actually true, but we’ve put together a guide to some sweet Saturday snacks that you can eat almost instantly using the magic of the microwave.
How about blueberry mug muffins – these are exactly what they say they are, blueberry muffins made in a mug!
You’ll need 1 ounce of frozen blueberries, half a mug full of ground flaxseed, ½ tsp of baking powder, 2 tsb of pancake syrup, 1 egg white and ½ tsp of nutmeg. Mix them all together in a mug with a little bit of melted butter and microwave for 90 seconds and voila! (Almost) instant muffin in a mug!
If that isn’t sweet enough, how about a mini Nutella cake?
Mix 4 tbsp self-rising flour, 4 tbsp of sugar, 1 egg, 3 tbsp cocoa powder, 3 tbsp of Nutella, 3tbsp of milk annnnnd 3 tbsp of vegetable oil in a mug with a fork. Whisk it until it’s smooth. Microwave on full power for 90 second, leave to cool and then you’ve got yourself a cute little treat. The whipped cream is totally optional.
