The annual American Music Awards might seem pretty tame compared to when Kanye West stole T-Swifts limelight at the VMAs, or when Miley Cyrus gyrated against a foam finger. But the AMAs has had its fair share of drama and glitz. Here’s a round-up of the best and worst dressed from the AMAs 2017…
Selena may have broken the new rules set by Dua but when she rocks a faux leather dress with biker zip details and star embroidery, we can just about forgive her for getting back with Justin.
Remember Ashlee Simpson? She sports a floor length Christian Siriano sequin maxi dress and we cannot get enough. Ideal for the party season, check out how you can wear sequins if sparkle just isn’t your thing here.
This was teetering in between best dressed AND worst dressed. We actually didn’t think that was possible. But we’ve come to love Pink’s look, offset by some seriously fire punk vibes. The floral embroidery with the bright candy pink hue gives a nod to SS18 dressing but when it’s Pink, does she really care?
It’s like a Halloween outfit gone wrong. Diana Ross received the lifetime achievement award but it’s safe to say her outfit won’t be achieving any awards. The gothic headpiece and the flared feature gives an unbalanced proportion that looks a bit too much. Luckily she’s an absolute legend but she might have to leave the silver sandals and black veil at home next time…
If you don’t know all the lyrics to Goodies and Like A Boy, how did you get through your teenage years? Ciara sports a faux leather mini dress with knee high boots. With a wrap tie waist, long sleeves and a high shine effect, this is a badass outfit to sport literally anywhere and everywhere throughout the party season.
Tracee Ellis Ross
WTF is this dress. Next!
Yaaaaas Hailee! Here at MG we love everything about this outfit – from the sleek cigarette trousers to the structured blazer with a faux leather bralet. It’s tailoring done right and we absolutely need this combo in our lives.
Too much is going on with this outfit that it actually makes our eyes bleed that colour. The tiered look is just a no-no and we’re not sure what’s going on with the failed tie-bow in the middle.
Kelly Rowland mixes all the textures of the season and it works. Her velvet maxi dress with mesh sleeves and floral beaded embroidery makes this an instant win. Get the lowdown on the textures of the season here.
