THE IT GIRLS OF 2016| January 9, 2016
It’s a new year with a new set of It Girls to stalk. Whether it’s veterans like Rihanna and Gigi who are still killing it with outfit slays and cool AF life or the new girls on the block like singer and shaved hair beauty Halsey and Beibs new Girl Hailey Baldwin, it’s time to get obsessed!
Hailey Baldwin – @haileybaldwin
You probably started hearing about this chick towards the end of last year but who is she? Probably most well known right now for being Justin Bieber’s current girlfriend, Hailey’s also the beautiful offspring of Hollywood actor Stephen Baldwin and Kendall Jenner’s best friend. Her modelling career is also blowing up right now with campaigns for Topshop and Triangl already under her belt by the age of 19.
Halsey – @iamhalsey
If you like dystopian concept albums inspired by the likes of Las Vegas and Star Wars, you’re going to love 20-year-old New Jersey native Halsey. She had thousands of followers before even releasing her debut album Badlands, toured with Imagine Dragons throughout 2015 and featured on a Justin Bieber track. Watch out for this girl.
Chaelin Lee – @chaelincl
Chaelin is one of the biggest stars of K-pop in South Korea and she’s now bringing it to the UK and United States. Having already collaborated with Skrillex and Diplo on her first album, she’s deffo one to watch in music, but apart from being an amazing rapper, singer and dancer, she’s also a huge style icon in Korea, so look out for her bold, colourful and experimental creations. Chances are you might see them before you spot her.
Gigi Hadid – @gigihadid
If you’ve not yet heard of 21-year-old Californian beauty Gigi Hadid, we’d suggest you’ve probably been living under a rock. Her star is rising, especially now she’s been outed as ex-1D’s Zayn Malik’s girlfriend, and she’s already scored modeling campaigns for Topshop and Versace. So what’s next for Gigi? We predict she’s gonna continue to get the big campaigns alongside BFF Kendall Jenner, as well as becoming one half of the next new it couple.
Rihanna – @badgalriri
Rihanna needs no introducing but she is worth mentioning on this list as she finally has a new album out this year, or so we’re told…She’ll also be touring the Anti album across the country throughout 2016 and we can’t wait. It’s been way to long since we last heard a BadgalRiRi track.
St Vincent – @st_vincent
Born Annie Clark, Oklahoma-native St Vincent is now a singer who changed her name and is set for big things. She’s already become the first female solo artist in 20 years to win the Grammy for Best Alternative Album and been nominated for the International Solo Artist award at the Brits early last year. She’s also Cara Delevigne’s girlfriend which is sending her profile soaring but we recommend you check out her music before anything else.
Daisy Ridley – @daisyridley
Daisy went from a small part in BBC1 drama Casualty to starring in one of the biggest films of 2015, playing heroine Rey. There’s no stopping her now and the sky’s the limit for this 23-year-old British star.
Justine Skye – @justineskye
Born in Brooklyn, Justine spent her teens recording demos and putting her energies into her Tumblr page. Her purple-coloured hair and poppin’ lipstick shades soon caught the eye of a loyal following with thousands of notes on her Tumblr images. Turning this following into a brand, Justine created a persona she now releases her music under, The Purple Unicorn. Now she’s backed by a mojor label and collaborated with Kylie Jenner’s BF Tyga on a track. So watch out ‘cos this girl’s gonna blow up.
Agnes Hedengard – @hedengard
Agnes is a white blonde-haired Swedish model and now YouTube star who made headlines when she was told she was ‘too big’ for the fashion industry. Now she wants to encourage young girls to be happy in their own skin and teach people how to love themselves. Go Agnes!
Lily Rose Depp – @lilyrosedepp
You probably recognise Lily’s pretty famous parents already, Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis anyone? Though being born into a famous family doesn’t guarantee stardom and Lily’s got something to prove. She’s already headed up a Chanel campaign and catwalk show and is now forging out an acting career, appearing in horror film Tusk and with 3 films out this year. Keep your eyes peeled for this one.
