Tell us about yourself…
HI! My name is Rhyme, yes really, my parents were creative types. I absolutely love to write, make music and act. Coffee is good. Ice-skating is fun. Saxophones are saxy!
I’ve been modelling and DJ-ing for the past 3 years and have been very lucky to travel too. To travel for work, and collect inspiration and experiences along the way. More recently I have been moving into and focusing on my live and original music as well as more acting on screen.
I’m very driven to create meaningful content and laugh everyday with friends and family.
What’s the best gig you have worked on with a photographer?
Ahhh that’s a hard one!! I’ve had the pleasure of working with so many amazing photographers
Shooting these outfits for Missguided with Elijah @elijahelkahale and Shane @hoodimagery in locations from the graveyard to the church courtyard was super spooky and mood setting. I was aiming to match the design and lining on the clothes to the patterns of architecture that was in shot.
Highlight from travels last year would be shooting with Bryan Spitzer @bdspitz in downtown NYC. From the Financial District to wharf jumping, climbing rooftops in Chinatown to dodging bikes on the Brooklyn Bridge was pretty daring and heaps of fun.
Who’s your favourite artist and why?
Eminem. His IDGAF about what you think attitude and influence from Dr DRE’s beats combined with anti-conformist messages mixed with humour has been a staple in the CD players over my younger years.
Describe your sound in five words…
Emotive, Poetic, RocknRoll, Electronica-Experimental, Future-Bass. (Combined-counts-right?)
What are you working on at the moment?
I’m currently working on an EP and later an Album. I’ve been consolidating sounds, recording vocals, producing short clips for videos and compiling all my writing into my music. Also on the DJ grind working on a set where live poetry meets Techno and live saxophone meets Nu Jazz.
What’s on the agenda for 2016?
Lots of writing and studio time. Working to travel, working to create. I’ve planned to go to Japan (#GOALS) in April then NYC and Europe in the Summer mid-year. But who knows, I’m just taking each day as it comes.
