The October Glossary – Trends you need on your radar this month

We’re finally ready to admit that autumn is definitely here. There’s a chill in the air, and we’ve already indulged in numerous pumpkin spice lattes and dug our chunky knits out of the back of the wardrobe…  To get your autumn winter style on lockdown, we’ve collected some style inspo from our fave #babesofmissguided, to give you some major outfit inspo. Here are the top 5 trends to be seen in, check them out below.

Metallics

If you don’t own something metallic then you need to catch up babe, because this is THE fabric to be seen in this AW18. This look is all about everything from attention-grabbing embellished pieces to more subtle, classy co-ords. Wear a gorgeous strappy silver cami dress, with barely-there makeup and barely-there shoes. Go plain with the rest of your accessories to let the sparkle do the talking. As Christmas creeps up, sequins and metallics are easy statement styles that you’ll be seeing more and more. Turn heads in a fringed, sequin co-ord, for a classic, eye-catching look.

Tailoring

Tailoring has been a key style for all of 2018, and it isn’t going anywhere as we move into autumn. The possibilities are endless with tailoring. Up your workwear style with a tailored suit and show your office who’s the ultimate girl-boss. Or, if you’re after a more smart-casual vibe, why not throw on a tailored blazer over jeans and a graphic tee for the perfect in between. Got a big night out to go to? Tailoring can sort you out for that too! Try a tailored playsuit, shorts and blazer co-ord set, or even a blazer dress to look like you’ve got your life together even when you’re on the dancefloor at 3am.

Red

@lradwell

Klaxon alert… There are 12 weeks ’til Christmas (not that we’re counting). That means that autumn and winter season has officially begun. Take inspo from the most unlikely fashion icon ever, and make sure you’re repping Santa Claus’ favourite hue because if there’s one colour you should definitely be wearing RN it’s red. An LRD (that’s Little Red Dress, FYI) always looks AMAZE on a night out. Slick on a matching red lip to really turn up the heat. Or, go for a more subtle approach and wear a red bodysuit or top with your fave pair of jeans for ultimate cool-girl vibes.

Faux Fur

There is well and truly a chill in the air and after the glorious summer we’ve had, we’re just not ready for snow! Your coat is the most important investment you’ll make in the autumn-winter season, so make sure you choose carefully. Faux fur is probably the biggest statement you can make with your outerwear, and it’s sure to look amazing with pretty much anything you throw at it. Black and brown styles are toned-down enough for even the most casual day-time affair. Or, if you’re off out-out this winter, finish off your party dress with a fab coloured faux fur coat. Plus it’ll keep you super warm… Bonus.
