HOW TO WEAR MINIMALISM| February 18, 2015
Sleek, simple and Scandinavian is the hottest vibe of 2015. We caught up with Missguided’s Stylist Sara on the set of our latest video to get the lowdown on simplistic styling and how to achieve the look for yourself.
Hey Sara! What was your inspiration behind each look?
Keeping it fresh and simple, with clean lines, tonal colours and minimal fuss.
Why do you think the minimal look is so popular?
Because it is easy to replicate, and makes you look effortlessly chic. The details and finishing on the garments look high-end so the overall effect is classic.
If someone wanted to add one piece to their wardrobe to give it a ‘Style Edit’ revamp what should they go for?
A very simple, good quality, longline shirt. It is extremely versatile; can we worn with distressed jeans and nude courts or bare legs and barely-there heels.
Which was your favourite look + lust have piece from the shoot?
I love mixtures textures of tonal shades, so the silk slip with chunky knit gets me every time. The neck on this thing is incredible, perfect for nailing that effortless ‘hair tuck’. However, my lust piece has to be the belted leather trousers – the shape is flattering, the belt gives a real Balmain kick & no-one can deny the power of a real killer pair of leathers.
If you could dress one celeb in the Missguided style edit who would it be & why?
Emma Watson would bring a really youthful, fresh vibe to the trend, whereas Olivia Palermo would rock the hell out of an open collar shirt.
