Missguided Curve – Your Guide to Body Confidence| September 5, 2017
We teamed up with model, influencer, and one of our favourite #babesofmissguided @lateciat as the face of the new curve collection. Keep scrolling for the most inspiring q+a you’ll probably read all year, as we talk female empowerment, body confidence, inspiration and body image.
What does female empowerment mean to you?
Female empowerment in my opinion aligns with self awareness. When a women knows her worth she is unstoppable. It’s about finding that awareness within and using your voice to create change for other women around the world to realise their worth. We’re stronger when we stand together, support one another and demand change.
What is the best bit of advice you have ever been given?
I know this is cliche but treat others the way you would want to be treated. I think it’s important to be kind, gracious and treat everyone with the respect you’d hope for in return.
What are your top tips for body confidence?
Take the time to experiment with fashion by breaking your habits and trying something you normally wouldn’t. You will surprise yourself, when you look good you will feel great!
Don’t focus on the numbers on the inside of your clothing. I used to let the size I am define me but not anymore! I am more than just a number and so are you!
When you look in the mirror compliment yourself, it’s so damaging to pick ourselves apart. It’s easy to focus on the negative but if you start focusing on your strengths you will learn to love and appreciate your self more and more everyday.
Ditch negative, critical people. If you’re constantly being put down by someone, maybe think about detoxing yourself from people that don’t want to be a positive supportive influence in your life.
Do NOT compare yourself to anyone else, whether it’s friends, celebrities, colleagues just don’t do it. Own the body you have, it’s yours and no one else’s.
These are just a few things that have helped me become body confident.
What do you say to people who tell you, you ‘can’t’…
I laugh, because I know I am more than capable to achieve anything I put my mind to. What they don’t realise is that they’re fuelling my drive to make what ever it is they say I can’t do happen!
Who is your biggest inspiration?
My mother, she’s is my biggest inspiration, I love her to bits! I also draw inspiration from women in general. It’s incredible to see other women who are confident, empowered and fearless – it’s so contagious!

Biggest celebrity crush?
Angelina Jolie for sure!
You have one day left on earth, what would you do…?
I’d round up all of my family and close friends and we would spend the day together somewhere magical like Venice. That sounds so cheesy haha but I think that would be so amazing!
What is your life motto?
I don’t ever want to reach a stage in my life where I regret not giving something a go because I was fearful or I had self doubt.
What word or phrase do you use the most?
If you want my honesty, I have the biggest potty mouth and it probably wouldn’t be appropriate to put these words or phrases in writing haha
Fave piece from the new curve collection?
It’s so hard to decide! I love the sequin t-shirt dress and the black lace up corset dress.
What does being a #babeofmissguided mean to you?
To me, it means all inclusive. Being a babe of missguided is for anyone and everyone that is and feels empowered. It’s a community that is brought together through an amazing brand that supports confidence, self expression and just being an overall badass babe!
Do you think the media has a big impact on body image? How would you combat this?
Hell yes I do, I think the media hugely impacts on body image as well as social media.
We are all unique and different to one another. These qualities need to be focused on and celebrated rather than being criticised. The only way we’re going to move forward is by having more diverse representation in the media.

Tell us a secret…
I used to do street photography for a brief moment in my life to teach myself the basics on how to use a camera. What I didn’t realise was that I loved capturing people in whatever moment they were in and their expression. Being able to capture a moment is just so magical. If I weren’t doing what I loved, I’d probably be a photographer.
